Today we spent the morning exploring the beaches around south Kihei, including lunch at Big Beach in Makena Beach State Park.

When we are in Hawaii, we try and plan to got out and "do" activities every-other-day. We also try and plan most of our actives in the morning so we have the afternoon to relax by the pool and have "Happy Hour" at the condo. The girls love Happy Hour, as they get their own special drink (usually Ginger ale or Juice) and get to eat the tasty snacks.

This is our second time in Maui, and we are here a lot earlier in the year; February vs May. There is so much more wind this time. We haven't been able to spend lots of time on the beach as the wind blasts the sand into your legs/ankles. The weather has been beautiful despite the wind, and it is enjoyable to watch the locals take advantage of the wind. Here are a few photos of some guys Kite Boarding
Our Condo has been fantastic for us. The grounds are well maintained and of course there is lovely tropical vegetation. The south side of the building is the BBQ area, and the tall, 3 story wall is faced in lava rock. There are some beautiful birds nesting among the rocks.

There are also lots of units with in this building that are owner occupied. Elyse made friends with this little boy and his remote control cars.

It was a bit stormy one afternoon, so we took the opportunity to walk down the beach to the rock point you can see from our condo.
