The Road Beyond Hana....
Koki Beach for lunch
'Ohe'o Gulch/7 Sacred Pools at the Kipahulu Visitors Center of Haleakala National Park
After our visit to Wai'anapanapa State Park we headed out on the road past Hana.
We stopped for lunch at Koki Beach. We stopped here last time we did the trip, we thought that if the surf wasn't too big we could go for a quick swim. Not this time, the surf was just as massive as it was earlier in the day. We had a really nice picnic lunch, walked on the beach and watch some locals surf the big waves.

After lunch we continued on the road past Hana, to make a stop at Kipahulu Visitors Center in Haleakala National Park. We visited the park a couple of days ago, to see the crater; the park extends all the way down the mountain side to the ocean. They have several short hiking trails in the 'Ohe'o Gulch. This is where you can swim in all the different pools of the creek/river as is comes down the mountain to the ocean. A refreshing swim in the cool fresh water.
Brynn fell asleep in the van on our way to the 7 Sacred Pools, so I waited in the van while she slept and Elyse, Scott and Scott's mom and dad did the short hike and went for a swim.

After stopping at the Park we headed again on the road beyond Hana to loop back around to the other side of the island. We did this last time too, and it made for a very enjoyable end to our trip to Hana and Beyond. We arrived back at the condo in time for dinner and a swim in the pool.
