Trip to Creston July 19 - 23

No the house hasn't sold yet, but we were getting itchy feet to get out on the boat (we left it there, until we got the gate done in our back yard). Also, the house needed some maintenance a bird had nested in the soffit and the garden needed a lot of weeding and the house needed all over clean (it is amazing how much dust and dead flies where on the floors).
We picked a great weekend to go down, it was 30+ every day we were there. It was great to catch up with friends and use the boat. Can't wait for our week at the lake August 30 - Sept 8!

Scott and Elyse playing in the waves - it was a bit windy and choppy on Monday when we were out at the lake

First attempt with solid food

Brynn has been showing an interest in what we are eating, and with the advice from our pediatrician we tried some rice cereal with her. Some went in but most of it ended up on her chin. We will try again in a week or two to see if she is ready.

4 Month Update

Brynn is now 13 lbs 10 oz and is 25" tall
 Highlights from this past month:
- she loves to hold onto her toes and also loves to chew/suck on them
- she can hold her hands together
- blows raspberries and bubbles
- she fits most 6 month size sleepers
- loves the Jolly Jumper and Exersaucer
- Brynn doesn't like the heat, she gets cranky!
- Hair continues to stick up at the back/top

First Camping trip (sleeping in a tent) - We spent 2 nights at Wabamun Provincial Park with Grandma and Grandpa Stokes, Justin, Hayley and Nora

Rolled completely over (back to tummy) at 14 weeks (June 19)
She gets stuck on her tummy and doesn't want to be on her tummy and cries, we call it "the reverse turtle"
She can sometimes continue to roll and squirm until she is off the foam play mats...

Sunday at the Zoo!

We some how spent the morning at the Zoo here in Edmonton and didn't get a single picture of an animal! We all had fun and Elyse loved the animals.

Elyse picked out the horse she got to ride
Brynn's ride for our morning at the zoo... backseat baby!

Saturday Fun

We started out the day with some sisterly love
Then moved on to painting the gate. It's finally finished...
(not really, we still need to figure out the best latching system for it)
Elyse loved helping paint!
An afternoon walk over the North Saskatchewan River, using the pedestrian bridge underneath the Anthony Henday
The only hills in Edmonton... down to the river valley bottom and then back up
Then Brynn found that her toes are great to chew on... Such a busy day!

Gate Project: Phase 4 Continued...

Happy Canada Day!!!
Phase 4 Continued:

Make second gate door from existing fence and hang in place.

Complete

We have the gate finished... almost I just need to get some paint and paint the new wood.
The second door was easy to build and hang but we some how didn't get the door high enough when we hung it and we (by we I mean Scott) had to dig out so the gate could open.
Of course this weekend has been the hottest weather we have had yet here in Edmonton... but the project is done (almost) and we all survived, both girls were excellent (Elyse playing and Brynn having long naps).

The hole that was dug to open the gate

Finished, now to paint...
Now we just need to go get the boat!
