Camping at Pigeon Lake

We took the girls camping at Ziener Provincial Park on Pigeon Lake. We took the boat out to Pigeon lake last weekend for the day, it was very green. So we decided not to bring the boat with us this weekend. A really good choice! Look at all the algae!

We booked a site right on the waters edge, this was our beach. Beautiful sand, and 20 feet of sludge.
The smell at times was pretty strong.

It was windy all day Saturday and the floating mats of algae, mixed in the water until it was all a green soup.

It was the full moon and with the smoke in the air, the moon was beautiful

Stormy Rainbow

We had quite a storm come through, with beautiful sunshine afterwards. 

There was a complete rainbow!

Edmonton Corn Maze

The weather got very nice this afternoon, after raining all day Saturday. 

The Edmonton Corn Maze is only a 5-10 minute drive from our house. Website

We thought it might be muddy in the maze; we should have worn our runners - hot feet!

The maze was broken into 2 phases, we finished the first one and then took a break and checked out all the farm animals. We found this poster of the maze (the entrance/exit is on the right), and took a photo. The second phase went much quicker with the map!

In this play area the "sand" was all corn!

The girls really wanted to take a ride on the Grain Train. It was a lot of fun!

There was also these huge Jumping Pillows, the girls had to jump on them several different times

A Visit to Sorrento August 1-9, 2015

We got to spend over a week at Scott's Mom & Dad's in Sorrento.
The girls love spending time with Grandma & Grandpa and having their cousins Zoe and Hailey stay too!

Elyse's request to hike Copper Island again. Our friends were in Salmon Arm visiting their family. They came out and joined in on the hike.

The little girls (Hailey and Brynn) didn't go on the hike so they kept cool on the slip 'n slide and in the kiddle pool.

My Uncle John, Auntie Nur and cousin Andrea were vacationing at an RV park close to Sorrento. We got to spend lots of time with them at the beach, having dinner and boating.
