Brynn likes to do what ever Elyse is doing and today Elyse was colouring.
The girls also got some stickers in the mail from their cousin Laura, and they were adding stickers to their works of art!

Amaryllis

I got this amaryllis for Christmas December 2012 and I finally planted it last spring in April 2013, it grew great leaves but never flowered for me. The leave died off and I stuck in the window in the basement and gave it some water every once in a while. I noticed this spring that the leaves were starting to grow so I started watering it regularly and then once we were home from Hawaii I brought it up from the basement. It grew beautiful red and white flowers.

Backyard Camping

We promised Elyse that we would sleep in the tent in the backyard this summer and this weekend was the perfect opportunity to. Elyse choose who she wanted to sleep in the tent with her, of course Scott got the honor and I slept inside with Brynn.
We got a backyard fire bowl this spring, so we really made it a backyard camp out with S'mores around the campfire.
I got early birthday presents from Scott and his mom & dad; new Adirondack style chairs. Scott put them together and we enjoyed relaxing in them.

"Go, Red Dragons, Go"

Elyse's Soccer team this year are called the Red Dragons.
We missed the first game of the year when we were in Hawaii, but Elyse has jumped right back into soccer!

Maui - Blowhole and North-West Maui

Our last day in Maui was very rainy, so instead of the pool and beach we headed north. The road was again very narrow in spots but the scenery was beautiful. Our destination was the blowhole, we figured it might be going with all the high surf that was going on. The rainy weather was brought in with lots of wind and waves.

Maui - Sunsets

We had a really great view of the sunset from our condo, and every evening the sunset was different

Every evening at sunset the locals would blow their conch shells in the 4 directions (West, North, East & South)

Maui - Turtles, Turtles and More Turtles

It is hard to see but at one point there was at least 9 turtles grazing on the rock shelf. 

Maui - Lunch and The Road Beyond Hana

After we visited Hana we continued on our way around the southern tip of Maui. We stopped at a great beach park for lunch, and Scott and Elyse took a little dip in the ocean.
The road after Hana is mostly gravel, and most people recommend not doing it but it was in better shape than a lot of roads we've driven on in BC.

It is amazing how different the landscape becomes on the dry side of the island. The lush tropical rain forest left behind and dry grass/dessert lands ahead
