An Up Date

We have had 5 viewings of the house in the last 3 and a half days, with another 2 scheduled for tomorrow already. It is difficult to always have the house in "show condition" at all times, it does says something that I can get out of bed in the morning and remember to make it. Although, it has been nice to have such a clean and tidy house. We now always do the dishes right after we have cooked, instead of waiting till the next morning. Hopefully all the work we have put into the house pays off.

Our tickets are booked to Halifax, so we can go and find ourselves a new home. We will be leaving this coming Friday - THE 13th !! I hope this will mean good luck for us. Thank goodness for the internet, we have been spending a lot of time online on MLS checking out what is available in Halifax. It looks to be a buyers market, and as far as we can tell it is a sellers market here in Creston

The next week I am sure will be a whirl wind, as I work day shift Monday & Tuesday and nights Wednesday & Thursday. Which means that I will get off work at 7 am on Friday and we fly out at 7 pm. Yikes !

The really interesting part will be that I need to fly back on the 19th as I leave for SOAR (Girl Guide Camp) at 6 am Friday the 20th (I'll be home for less than 12 hours). I definitely need to be packed for Halifax and SOAR before I start work on Monday.

On another note, Scott's mom was reading the blog an noticed my comment that Scott and I didn't have any nice photos of Scott and I together at Sarah's wedding. So she emailed me a couple of nice pics, here is one of them:

Creston in the News - Friday June 30th, 2007

So this past Friday we had a large storm blow through the valley. It made national news that there might have been a Tornado touch down here. Here is a link to a news storey from CTV:

There were a lot of trees that got knocked down, and part of the local RCMP detachment's metal roof got torn off.
The most damage was about 6 blocks from us. All we had were a few shingles from some one's roof in our yard and a couple of tree branchs on the street but nothing really to speak of.

The power was out for about 3 hours, we just took the opportunity to play a couple of games a crib and hang out. The brewery was a mess after the power came back on as there was a surge and it fried a bunch of different components. Scott has been dealing with this aftermath almost all night Friday and Saturday. Things seem to be coming along now, and they are up and running.

Happy Canada Day
