Purple, Green and Yellow

I am not sure if you have read this book by Robert Munsch, but it is a good one.
Scott was reading it to Elyse last night and today she thought it would be a good idea to copy it!

Edmonton Valley Zoo

We were planning on going to the zoo this summer but never got a chance to go. We took advantage of the City of Edmonton's annual "Free Day". Free Day is free admission to a lot of different city attractions, last year when Carrie and Laura were visiting we went to Fort Edmonton. It was a bit cold but we all had fun.

Scott got to go on the carousel with the girls

Not sure Brynn is that excited to pet the sheep
Elyse was very excited that the Adventure Bus was at the zoo. The bus had come to her playschool last year and she loved it. You can just see her profile with the ponytail through the window

Walking With Dinosaurs

Scott took Elyse to Walking with Dinosaurs at Rexall Place. We had been seeing lots of advertisements for the show and Elyse really wanted to go. A late night for them but they had so much fun!

Walking in the River Valley

After the first bit of snow at the beginning of September, that melted right away; we have had beautiful weather. We decided to take advantage of the sunshine and head downtown to walk on the trails along the river valley. This was one of my "Edmonton Bucket List" items, a huge success; we walked for over 2 hours!

Sparks!

Elyse has join the Girl Guides of Canada this year as a Spark.
She belongs to the 75th Edmonton Sparks!
She is super excited to go and make new friends, and she has a lot of girls to make friends with, there is 26 girls in her group.
Soon there will be cookies to sell, Any one want to buy some Guide Guide Cookies?!

All dressed up and ready to go. She is just missing her badge sash, which has nothing on it and so she didn't want to wear it yet.
A drawing she brought home after her first Spark meeting. A very good drawing of her and her Spark uniform.

18 Month Update

It's hard to believe that Brynn is already a year and a half old!
She is quite the character, and if I thought Elyse liked to test our patience; Brynn is really giving us a run for our money!
Currently she only has a few words but can really get her point across by pointing and screaming until we get it right.
Her words are:
"babowl" = Bubble
"eeeeezzzz" = Cheese or Please
"Add-eee" = Daddy
"ooww" = for almost anything (including kisses, hugs, picking her up) and especially bumps and ouchies
She nods her head up and down for yes and back and forth for no

She is 21 lbs 9.2 ozs
and is 31.5" tall
Brynn is very opinionated with how she dresses. She insisted on this hat, a very cute choice!
After the peach incident, I have noticed that she likes to eat her food by poking holes into is and then pick things up with her thumbs.

Snow!

Carrie, Ken and Laura left just in time; it snowed this morning!
Last year our first snowfall of the 2013-2014 winter was October 27th (First Snow of 2013-2014 Winter); the snow is really early this year.
Good thing we already winterized the boat.

First Day of Kindergarten and West Ed Mall Fun

Today was the first day of Kindergarten for Elyse.
She was very excited to go to school!

After Elyse was home from school and the little girls finished their naps, we headed off to West Ed Mall.
We spent a bit of time shopping, and checking the different attractions out before meeting Scott for dinner.
Uncle Ken is really fun and the girls got to go on quite a few rides in Galaxy Land.

Fun with Cousin Laura

The weather was very nice and we got to spend some time playing outside.
"The Island" aka "Kid Mountain" in the winter, is a great place to play in our front yard/cul d'sac.

Elyse was trying out her backpack and getting ready for Kindergarten.
So both little girls had to have their backpacks on too!

Jurassic Forest

After the wedding my sister and her family stayed to visit with us.
The girls loved having Auntie Carrie, Uncle Ken and Cousin Laura to play with.
We spent the morning at Jurassic Forest, just northeast of Edmonton. The girls all had fun, walking on the trails and checking out the animatronic dinosaurs along the way and playing in the dino-playground.

Brynn, loved it and kept pointing to all the different moving dinosaurs
