Elyse's New Bedding Set

Since my brother's wedding this past September we have had their double bed in Elyse's room.
It has been working well for guests, especially at Christmas, Elyse has no problem sharing a room with Brynn when people are visiting.
My brother and sister-in-law said we could keep the bed for Elyse to use. I finally got around to ordering a bedding set for her, We moved her 2x3 cube bookshelf to beside her dresser, brought up a nightstand for her lamp and moved the bed into a better spot in her room.
She is very excited!
The set came with 2 window valences, 2 throw pillows, a fleece blanket, sheets, pillow shams, and a bed skirt. I used the fleece blanket to cover the cushion for her window seat.

Brynn's Arm

Brynn on our way to school to pick Elyse up
Just because she is looking super cute in a hat and scarf set that Elyse use to wear that we got from my Auntie Sylvia
Elyse, Scott and Brynn were playing Mario Cart on the Wii this evening. We give Brynn the portion of the Wii controller that plugs is when it's needed, so she feels like she is playing. She tripped over the cord and we think she landed on the plug with her elbow.
We finally got her calmed down about 20 minutes after she fell, but she was holding her arm and if she went to reach with it the she melted down again.
We made the decision to head to the ER at the Stollery (a dedicated kids hospital and ER department). We were seen by a Dr and Radiologist who both couldn't confirm if she fractured her arm or not. Both suspected she did chip the end of her humerus/at the elbow, so into a half-cast/splint until she could be seen by the Orthopedics specialist in about a week.
Good thing it is in a half-cast as we can take it off for baths.
A little bit of Tylenol and Advil, she is acting like nothing happened until we take the half-cast off.
About 1 am waiting for her half-cast to go on. She finally fell asleep about 10 minutes before the Dr saw her

Half-cast is on and we get to go home!. We got home around 2 am, it was a slow morning the next day

Update:
Dr Appointment on Tuesday May 5, 2015
Orthopedic specialist still can't confirm if her arm is fractured but suspects it is.
In little ones, their bones are still forming and little chip/white spot they see in the x rays could be cartilage/bone still forming or it could be a chip from the end of her humerus.
Treatment: Leave a half-cast on for another 10 days.
Standard treatment for fractured in little ones like this is 3 weeks in a cast, and with another 10 days that will equal 3 weeks

Having fun and acting like nothing even happened, new half cast with her wrist free this time
Update #2:
Friday May 15, 2015
Half-cast is off!!

Trial Paint Colour

Both Scott and I are tired of the coffee creamer tan colour on the walls of our place. We have now been here for 2 years and are thinking of changing up the colour. We have half of a 5 gallon bucket of grey paint left over from painting the house in Creston. We were not sure if the colour would go with the counter tops and cabinets in the kitchen. But lucky for us, the counters and cabinets are exactly the same in the bathrooms. An easy room to paint to see if the grey goes. And.... we don't think it does (see photos below of the girls bathroom, now painted grey). Now the big question, pick a new colour to paint or replace the counter tops???
The grey doesn't go well with the counter tops
The colour goes ok with the cabinets at least

"Cow Girls"

My mom was doing some cleaning out of their basement, and came across a few Halloween costumes. She sent us a few to use, the girls are getting so big that if we waited till Halloween I don't think these will fit. So into the dress up box they went, after of course the girls got to wear them. These cowgirl skirts and vests, my sister and I use to wear when we were little. It was fun taking their photo to send to my mom.

Easter Preparations

The girls helped me get ready for Easter this year by dyeing eggs and making salt dough eggs to paint and hang up for decorations.
