Kinbasket Lake Resort July 26 - 29, 2014

We met Scott's mom and dad at Kinbasket Lake Resort (50 km west of Golden BC), for a long weekend of fun camping and boating. A great relaxing trip!
The spaces at the campground were a bit tight to one another, but since we were sharing 2 sites this worked well for us. Elyse loved that she got to spend a couple nights with Grandma and Grandpa in the trailer and a night with us in the tent.
The scenery was beautiful (I miss the mountains), the water colour was a fantastic light/teal blue.

Brynn also loves being out on the boat, as long as we are moving

Scott got an early birthday present from his mom and dad - a 3 person tube. Elyse loved it!

Street Car Ride and the Taste of Edmonton

We took the opportunity today to cross a couple of items off our "Edmonton Bucket List"
We went downtown and caught the first ride of the day on the High Level Bridge Street Car. We got on at Jasper Ave & 109th St; it was about a 20 minute ride south across the river to the Old Strathcona Farmer Market and then the 20 minute ride back. The girls loved the ride, and it was a great way to see the view of downtown and Alberta Parliament.
After the street car ride we headed to city hall to take in the Taste of Edmonton for lunch.
Enjoying the morning and going for a little walk before catching the Street Car
Another cheesy grin from Brynn

The Taste of Edmonton is a really neat food festival held in Sir Winston Churchill Square next to City Hall, its a 10 day annual, outdoor event and was on our "Edmonton Bucket List" to do.
We arrived at Churchill Square just as the girls were getting hungry for lunch. We manage to tour around, get our tickets and feed the girls before the rainstorm hit. We waited out the rain, got dessert items before heading home. I think the girls like the pizza, and the Donair Poutine the best and of course the dessert items were a hit. Scott's favourite item was the Donair Poutine and mine was the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake on a Stick.
Here is a list of the items we sampled and the restaurant that provided them.

Liege Waffle with Fruit Topping - Eva Sweet Products
Wood Fired Prosciutto Pizza - Canicus Catering
BBQ Pork Spring Rolls - Hong Kong Bakery
Channa Masal & Saffron Rice - New Asian Village
Shammi Kebab (Spicy Beef Sliders) - New Asian Village
Freshly Squeezed Lemonade - Lemon Heaven
Tempura Shrimp - Kyoto
Hurricane Potato - Korean Village
Donair Poutine - Quick Meal Mediterranean Food
Chocolate Fondue Cup - The Melting Pot
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake on a Stick - The Cheesecake Cafe
Chocolate Dipped Strawberry - The Sutton Place Hotel

A Visit from Auntie Laurie and Uncle Robert

Good friends of ours from Creston stopped in for a short visit on their way to Loydminster. So much fun having them here with us over night.
We miss them a lot!

How do we know Brynn is ready to go outside?

When Brynn is wanting to go outside and play in the backyard, she will get her hat and shoes on and then hand you the sunscreen... aren't we predicable parents that even our 1 year old knows what we need to go outside.
Getting out the Sunscreen
Hat that she put on her self and note the Crocs she put on are on the wrong feet!

Grabbing for the camera - kinda an odd photo of her but cute anyways

Now that Brynn is older we have been taking the girls to Glastonbury Park on our bikes.

Relaxing in the Backyard

We have been spending a lot of time in our backyard lately. I guess mostly it is because the weather has been nice, but I also think it is because the yard is fenced and we can just let Brynn loose to play with out worrying that she is going to run on to the street.

Such a pose from Miss E!
