Another Ski Trip to Jasper

We headed off to Jasper for another weekend of fun on the ski hill. We were all sick with the "Vegas Plague" aka the cold that Scott brought home from Las Vegas. But we all had fun despite being sick.

Brynn was in the daycare on hill for all day both Saturday and Sunday.
We put Elyse in for just the morning both days and she had a lesson Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon we planned on skiing with Elyse but she complained that she was too tired. So Elyse and I hung out at the truck in the parking lot (at least it was nice and sunny) and Elyse ended up napping in a lawn chair for over an hour and a half!

Sunday was a much better day for Elyse. She didn't have lesson in the morning and was ready to ski with us for the afternoon. She has completely figured out how to do her snowplow turns and stops and doesn't need us to get down the hill! She loved going down the "roller coaster", there was an area on the side of the run roped off for kids to learn to go over large rollers. She did that run at least 4 times in a row. I have added a short video of Elyse doing the "Roller Coaster"

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I seem to have made a tradition of taking a photo of Elyse on the back deck on March 17, ever since we moved to Edmonton! What a difference this year and last year were compared to our first spring in Edmonton in March 2013 when the snow was as high as the back deck.

Brynn's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Brynn's 2nd Birthday today, as Scott just got home from his conference this afternoon.
We had a small party with just family joining us for pizza, cake and present opening.
We decorated with lots of sprinkles/pok-a-dots
Elyse helped me make a "cake" I found a great recipe online for a Funfetti Sugar Cookie Cake.
Here is the link: Funfetti Sugar Cookie Cake

After dinner and cake we got Brynn to open all her gifts.
She had to try on every last item of clothing she got given to her!

Vegas Vacation March 6 - 10, 2015

Scott's annual conference for work was held in Las Vegas this year. We flew down on Friday, and I took a flight home on Tuesday morning, while Scott stayed. His conference was Monday to Thursday. We stayed at Mandalay Bay, and met up with Scott's mom and dad. They were traveling in their trailer around the southwestern states for their winter vacation and planned a stop in Vegas while Scott and I were there. Their RV park was only a 15/20 minute cab ride south of the strip and it was great to meet up with them for the afternoon/evenings.

Some time at the beach/wave pool. This area was great, it had real sand and the temperature was perfect to spend a couple of hours relaxing by the pool every afternoon.

On afternoon we got front row seats at the beach. It was almost like we were at the ocean, with the waves crashing at our feet!

The night we arrived, Scott and his dad got tickets to a Led Zepplin tribute show. While they were at the show, Scott's mom and I walked all the way up to Treasure Island, checking out the sights along the way. We timed our walk right and got to see the water/lights/music show at the Bellagio, the Volcano show at the Mirage and we waited for over half an hour for the pirate show at Treasure Island, only to discover that it hasn't run for 2 years! (maybe the internet/google could get up to date on that little piece of information). We used a bus pass to get back down to Mandalay Bay and met back up with Scott and Barry after the tribute show.

On Saturday night Scott and I got tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show, Mystere at Treasure Island. We met up with Scott's mom and dad for dinner and then again after the show up at Fremont Street. This weekend, there was a Nascar Race, and the crowd was very interesting. There was several free shows going on, and we all had a lot of fun.

The girls loved the videos I took of the light show on Fremont
Scott and I walked the strip and checked out the sights and to do a bit of shopping. The fountain show at the Bellagio was better at night, but still impressive enough during the day.

We met Barry and Margaret again in the evening and booked our selves in for a gondola ride at the Venetian. Then out for dinner, Yum!

Scott and I found these really cute tee shirts for the girls. This was the only shopping I did as I traveled with a carry on bag and didn't have the room for much more.

A visit from Grandma Feb 28 - Mar 15, 2015

Scott has a conference coming up, I am going to go with him for a short time so we asked my mom if she would come and take care of the girls. This worked really well as she was on her way to Ontario, to help my sister out after the birth of her second child.
I/we got so much done while she was here. I had a huge list of items to be mended and a couple of other sewing projects. She replaced the zipper in my fleece jacket and both zippers in the pockets of my other fall/spring weight coat. I got a bit of scrap booking done, and some other tasks I've been meaning to do but couldn't concentrate with the girls running around, she took care of the girls and I got them done!
Here are a few photos of while she was here. *one photo I really wanted was one of all 3 generations, but some how we missed that one, and I am dissapointed
My mom and I took Brynn to get her bangs trimmed. She did very well again, maybe next time I will trim them myself... ha ha! (probably not)
Brynn loves to do puzzles. These a couple of small farm animal puzzles, that have 5 pieces each and she can do them completely on her own
While Scott and I were gone, mom had very nice weather and took the girls outside to enjoy!

Attack, Uncle Dan!

Once I was home, we all went to brunch at my brother and sister-in-law's.
A nice treat for my mom and I and the girls always have fun there.
