So Much Rain!!!

We have had so much rain this spring. Today our storm system just couldn't handle any more. 

If you look closely you can see it isn't going down the grate at the bottom of our driveway but also spouting up out of the manhole cover in the middle of the street! 

Thank goodness we live close to the top of the hill, no flooding for us.

Weekend in Sorrento June 15-18

For the Father's Day weekend we headed up to Sorrento for visit. Scott's Grandma was also visiting so it was a great opportunity to get the whole family together, and for Elyse to spend some more time with her Great-Grandma.

Grandpa can have his own band! Scott was playing guitar, Grandpa on Bass and Elyse & Zoe on drums

Zoe brought her extra bouncy ball for Elyse to play with. The girls had so much fun bouncing around the house.

On Father's Day - Sorrento had an Old Fashioned Picnic to celebrate 100 years. Zoe got to ride the horse.

The helmet fit, so Elyse got to go for a ride too!

Zoe and Elyse participated in the sac race, Zoe did great but Elyse didn't hop at all!

Grandpa even got in on the next sac race, using Elyse's tiny sac!!

Pasta Project

I found this neat idea of how to dye pasta on-line, Elyse needed some fine motor skill activities so I thought I'd try it out.

The supplies: Pasta, Food Colouring and Hand Sanitizer (alcohol based)

5-6 drops of food colouring, and 2 squirts of hand sanitizer into a zip lock bag of pasta

Let dry overnight on parchment paper on cookie sheets

Ta-da! fun coloured pasta - the purple didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked

Total concentration when stringing pasta!
