We are on the move again...

It is official Scott has accepted a position based out of Toronto

Happy Halloween!

A quick trip to Sorrento!

We made a last minute decision to take the boat up to Scott's mom and dad's for the winter.
We left Saturday morning, spent the night in Sorrento and we were home Sunday evening.
The girls even got to spend some time with their cousins while we were in Sorrento.

We have never stopped at the Log Barn before, so this trip we did

Another place we have never stopped is the tunnel just outside of Greenwood.
We stopped and had a look around, an interesting story and I'd recommend stopping on your way by, at least to admire the graffiti

Pumpkin Picking

The Sparks and Brownies visited a local Fruit Stand for a tour. 

The girls got to pick out their own pumpkin to bring home.

They are very excited to carve them for Halloween!

Winter is coming...

A hint of what is to come... A beautiful crisp morning with snow on the mountains all around.

We are dog sitting today and it was such a nice morning to take Bandit out for a walk

A Visit from Grandma & Grandpa

My mom and dad came for a visit to help us out. I am filling in for a vacant line at work and it is all night shifts. I just entered my last block of work which is 6 nights in a row.
It was great having my parents visit, I had lists of things they could help me with, including making the girls Halloween costumes and patching some drywall on the ceiling in the basement.

Bunk Beds

Brynn has been sleeping in her crib converted to day bed since we moved to Creston.

The girls have really wanted a bunk bed so we finally bought one off of Wayfair.ca

I would totally recommend this site! Super easy to order, the shipping was fast and free! and delivered to our door faster than estimated (and for Creston this is amazing)

We bought a bunk bed that was a double/full on the bottom and twin/single on the top, so we could use our existing double mattress. We also bought a twin size mattress from Wayfair too.

We took apart Brynn's crib and cleared out the girl's room.

Field Trip to Kokanee Creek Provincial Park

Elyse's class was looking for volunteers to accompany them to the Kokanee spawning field trip.

I put Brynn in daycare and went with the class.

Brynn's 1st day of Playschool

Brynn was wait-listed for Jumping Jacks Playschool last year; but she got a spot this year!

She is in the 4 year old class on Tuesday/Thursday afternoons.
She is very excited to go.

They hold the school at the local gymnastic gym building and they get instructed on gymnastics for an hour or so during each day at playschool; along with all the other fun things that happen at a playschool.

One benefit of all the smoke in the sky from the forest fires has been the amazing sunsets!

Tonight there wasn't as much smoke in the air, and we could see the mountains

Elyse's 1st Day of Grade 3

Elyse was a bit nervous about starting her first day of school this morning.

With all of the shuffle going on in the school since the BC teachers have gone back to a previous contract (all those in BC will know the issue that has been going on with the BC Gov and BCTF).

We did not know who Elyse's teacher or classmates would be until she arrived at school this morning.

It was a bit of a challenge to get her to go to school as she really didn't want to go. 

By the end of the day she was excited to go back. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Page and she is in a 3/4 split class and her best friend is in her class!

Mount Thompson Hike

It has been so smokey here that we thought we'd try and get above it by going up to the top of Mount Thompson and doing a bit of a hike on the Rim Trail. We are dog-sitting Bandit and figured he'd come along for the walk.

Down the ridge and along the top to one of the peaks along the way....
