Making Frozen Cupcakes

Elyse got this cupcake set for Christmas this year from Great Grandma and Papa.
We did the other set she got from them earlier this year (Olaf Cookie Pops).
Elyse had her friend Rehna over for the day, and this was a great activity for them to do.
The best part was decorating them and then getting to eat them!

How the Garden Grows

May 18, 2015

and then just a few weeks later....
(Scott did an amazing job watering everything for me while I was gone)

July 17,
June 30 and then July 17...

Just a few photos of the planters...
the boxes on the back deck, the hanging baskets on the front porch
and the pots at the front corner of the garage.

I am trying a new tomato variety this year. Sub-Arctic Maxi
The ripening time on these is almost a month sooner that the other tomato varieties I have grown.
These 2 plants have completely taken over the box that they are in, I should have done only 1 plant in this box.
We will see how they ripen for us and maybe I'll look for these next year.
I moved the Hosta from the other side of the yard to this spot behind the boat.
Now that we have the boat parked here, the Aster that was in that location didn't get enough sun.
The  Hosta was in a very sunny spot on the other side of the yard.
It was a really easy switch and both plants are very happy now.

Taste of Edmonton

We headed downtown this afternoon to enjoy Taste of Edmonton with our friends Brad and Karen.
Our usual babysitter was out of town this weekend and I couldn't find anyone else to watch the girls, so they got to join in. We did discover that kids could be in the beer garden area until 5 pm. This was good news as it was a little less busy in this area and the girls could play a bit. And Scott, Brad and Karen could all enjoy a beer or two.

A visit with Blaine, Pam and Kids at Sylvan Lake

Blaine and Pam were visiting family in Sylvan lake and brought all their kids with them.
We haven't see the kids for a couple of years. It was fun to catch up.
Elyse and Eastin were very good friends when they were little.

A Girls Trip to Quesnel July 2-15, 2015

The girls and I headed to my parent's place just east of Quesnel.
We had great weather for our drive and both the girls are amazing travelers.
Lunch at a nice rest area between McBride and Prince George.
This was a great place to stop, the girls loved burning off some energy on the playground!
My parent's have so many Humming birds that come to their feeders. I can count 13 birds in this photo alone!
The Humming birds have no fear of humans. They are landing on my dad's fingers, to feed at the feeder.
Elyse did a lot of reading while we were at Grandma and Grandpa's
My parents pulled out the old Weebles set that my brother, sister and I used to play with as a kids
I brought the girl's dolls along with us, as my mom had made quite a few different doll outfits for them
My mom and her friend Tina have been making lots of crafts that they sell. This is their booth at the local farmers market
Another huge hit with the girls was the Play-mobile set from when I was little
In the "bus" aka the van, on our way to Bowron Lake for the afternoon

More reading and snuggle time

We had a wonderful dinner down at the ski hill.
The girls learned how to chew on the soft green ends of the Timothy grass stems.
Every time we went outside, we had to find some Timothy to chew on
More Timothy chewing!
My mom found skipping ropes that my sister and I use to use
Grandpa's Slippers!

We spent an afternoon at Cottonwood House.
Checking out the wooden sculpture of the Mama and Baby Bears
Giving the Baby Bear a kiss!

Elyse really wanted to go for a horse drawn buggy ride. She was so excited when we got to go

When my mom was visiting in March, I never got a photo of all of us together, so I made sure we posed for some family photos. I think we really got some good ones.
