Mexico Trip Tuesday Dec. 12 - Tulum

Here are our pictures from when we went for our day trip to Tulum and then on to Coba. This started out as an interesting side trip, we organized it through "Spike" and we all know where he got the boys that night! .... for 50.00 $ a person, with some guy named Rigo and a Van .... It turned out great, better that any of those tours we could have gotten from the Resort. We had our own personal guide in Tulum (only 5 of us in the group), then we got to check out the ruins for a couple of hours on our own.

Tulum is a "Walled" City, you can see the wall in the background

Over looking Tulum towards the Ocean

This building had 2 faces on it one on each corner, this is the face that represents Death

The city of Tulum was also called the City of the Sun Rise, this is one place where the buildings line ups to catch the sun rise and during the solstice the sun shines through this window and projects to a certian area in the building behind.

Tulum is right on the ocean, and was a major port in its time

The people who lived in this city, practiced human sacrifice.
This is a picture of the "House of the Cenote" (house with a sink hole in the middle)
They use to throw the bodies of their sacrifices down the hole !
