Toronto Trip - July 17, 2006

We just got back from our summer trip, who would have thought we would vacation in Southern Ontario. We flew out of Calgary July 5, arriving in Toronto at 2:30 am, it was about 3 o'clock before we were at our hotel and in bed. This wasn't too bad for me because I got to sleep in the next morning, but Scott was up at 7:00 so he could get to work.

While Scott was at work I got to check out down town Toronto, mostly the harbour front. We got to stay at the Westin Harbour Castle, the view from the room was nice, and it was even better that the company was paying for the room.

Friday July 7th, my sister came into Toronto to pick us up and spend the afternoon with me shopping. The subway was fun to ride, and Eton's Centre is huge. We spent the rest of our time in Ontario at my sister's place in Hamilton/Dundas. It wasn't too hot or humid out there and we spent some time visiting with my Aunt, Uncle and 2 cousins.

On our last day we decided to do some touristy things and visit Niagara Falls. This was fun, and our high light was the short trip on the Maid of the Mist. The mist is very refreshing on such a warm day. The afternoon we spend at the Royal Botanical Gardens, the flowers were beautiful.

We arrived back in Calgary July 12th, which we then spent the night visiting with friends. Thursday we drove to Scott's parent's resort on the Shuswap Lake and visited with them until Sunday morning, when we drove back home.
