We went camping at Wababmun Provincial Park this past weekend. We were joined by Scott's parents and friends of ours (Justin, Hayley and baby Nora). Wababmun is about 30-45 minutes west of where we live, they have a nice beach, day use area and a boat launch. We might take the boat there when we bring it up to Edmonton, not too sure about the signs posted:
"Swimming allowed
Avoid tar balls and oil slicks"
I didn't get a photo of one of the signs but apparently there had been a train derailment a few years ago and it spilled into the lake. We also checked out another lake north of Wababmun called Lake Isle, it looks like a nice lake for boating too.
We weren't sure about the weather for camping in a tent, but the rain held off until Sunday morning. Yucky to be packing everything up in the rain and having to dry everything out when we got home but we made it work. Scott's mom and dad had their 5th wheel trailer there and Elyse choose to spend her time with Grandma and Grandpa (she didn't sleep in the tent at all!)
