A Sick Girl

It all started on Saturday afternoon (Feb 12). Scott was away with the truck in Vancouver, attending a Canucks Game and Elyse started throwing up, I had no Gravol in the house, so I took her to ER to pick some up because there are no pharmacies open in Creston later at night and on a weekend. Of course since I didn't have the truck, I called a friend to take Elyse and I to ER. Even with Gravol suppositories, Elyse was still throwing up every couple of hours, at least it wasn't every 15-30 minutes like before I took her to the ER.

She stopped throwing up on Sunday afternoon, and the fever started! She continued to refuse to eat, drink or even nurse. She was really burning up on Monday morning and it didn't matter what I gave her she didn't cool down much and still refused to eat or drink. That afternoon Elyse had a very foul diarrhea. I took her into the ER again on that night (Feb 14) as she was so very lethargic, total rag doll like. When they weighed her she weighed less than she did at her 1 year vaccination appointment!

The staff hooked her up to an IV, and held us over night. In the morning she was a bit better but still not nursing or drinking, so they admitted her. We stayed another night and got discharged home on Wednesday morning. It took until today (Friday Feb18) before she started to be even a little bit like her self.
